Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

But nothing came back.
I just got (2) internal zipdrives today and I am trying to figure out how to install them on my MPC 2k classic. The floppy disk is JUST a floppy controller and not IDE/ATAPI. I dont think it is SCSI. This is aggrivating. If I cannot install one, I am forced to sell both drives (SUX).

If anyone has any insite on this matter, PLEASE let me know so I can put the cover back on my MP.

Thanks

Note: These options do not necessarily apply to the non-XL MPC, particularly internal storage options as the former model has NO internal ports.

It's the first sentence on the webpage.
Do some searching on MPC-Tutor's website because I know it has been talked about before.

Yeah I noticed that sentence..

It is just strange how Forat got that option when you send it to them.
They prob DISABLE to external SCSI and rewire it inside..
I dont know..

Thanks tho

damnit, i was just about to post the same thing.

ive been searching and searching everything i can find about getting this zip into my mpc 2k. information is sketchy at best, at asking questions of people is generally followed by a rude 'search before asking' without even thinking for a second wether or not thats the right answere.

but what we're saying here is that i cant put an ata zip in place of my 3.5? this a real bummer. ive already bought the drive because id been assured it was possible, and have been told by others that theyve done it.

is no the definitive answer?

seriously- after looking at the inside of this box it looks impossible. unless theres some kind of converter ribbon that i can get to connect to the zip cause its 3 pins wider than the one thats already in there.

if someone can drop the knowlege on me i plan on taking a bazzzillion pictures and putting together an extra comprehensive tutorial so this problem can be solved once and for all.

so again, if it is possible, if you have done it, please hook us up.

peace

Im with you there. I have had my new MP in pieces for about 2 days trying to figure it out. Im almost tempted to call Forat and ask them how in the world do they do it.

Ok, as of now, we have only a FD controller which is not ATAPI or SCSI.
There may be an adapter to change interfaces. I am gonna call some of my computer parts dist. to see if anything like that exists. I am not willing to go as far as altering the motherboard just to get it to work. These boards are like 386/486 boards and finding a replacement would kill us.

Ill keep everyone updated...

It's an internal SCSI. There is NO Atapi connector inside
the classic 2k, We've been over this a thousand times people.
If you had searched (I know you don't want to but......) you would
KNOW this already and not be in the dark and wondering about it.

okay, let me break something down about using the search function that you dont seem to understand.

theres a million posts to go through, i spent no less than 4 hours searching to find out what i wanted to know and couldnt find it.

this must make me stupid in your eyes, cause obviously you think i should have been able to find it. i guess youre a mod and think your attitude is acceptable. so consider yourself e-bitchslapped for being an ass and not knowing it. and for acting like you know, still not being any help and talking shit in the process.

i knew there was a reason i hadnt posted on these boards for so long.
