I'm a newbie

Just want to say Hi to everyone. I'm new to production and trying to learn all the tricks of getting my thoughts onto wax. So I'm going to have a bunch of different questions. Right now I own an MPC 2000 w/ maxed out memory. I don't own a syth yet but I'm looking into going with Reason 3.0 and a midi controller. I have a nice laptop and a nice desktop and I plan on doing most of my stuff computer based. Any advice for me?
