Need Some Friendly Advice

I just copped my MPC 2000XL today so I can have it in my arsenal. I am pretty much learning on the fly and I also have a Korg Triton LE and a turntable. The questions I have are:

What additions would I need if I dont want to use a PC?
If I had to use a PC, what would I need?
And if so, what would be the costs on those items? (Both Scenarios)

I thought I had everything to there to plug in and ready to roll, but I guess I got to dig in the pockets some more. All the help would be appreciated.

Newbie Whut up, my advice would be to familiarize yourself with the MPC and Triton first. Just beginning you've got a big step over a lot of people already. Just learn how to program and finess your MPC for now and coupled up with that Triton you already have a few good sounds to start with. As for the turntable another plus. Master what you have now anything else is going to take more complications than you have before you now. One step at a time grow into and with your set up.

Got you, what do I need to connect the 3? By reading around, I'm gonna need some kind of mixer for my turntable, but what about the Triton? What mixer am I looking for? What cables will I need for the Triton? See what I'm saying. And what about the drive that I need? I'm building by the minute. I'm getting the Triton by the day, I'm just dying to make beats!

you are going to need a mixing board to hook everything up to. i think you also need a pre-amp to hook ur turntable to the mixer. you can get a 6 channel mackie mixing board for cheap or you can go all out and get a digital mixing board. depends on how much u wanna spend.

2 midi cables 6ft each. A pre amp for your turntble unless you go the Po Man's route and hook your turntable up to a stereo reciver. As long as it has a phono/record input it definately has a pre amp built in. Which means you'll probably need 2 1/4 to rca cords which you can get already combined. Regardless of how you set your equipment up you'll need two 1/4 sized to 1/4 sized cables to run int the MPC be you're sampling into MPC via Triton etc; or running sounds out of the Mpc into a good mixer. As for sounds, drums,sfx, etc: to start you can by checking the links on Mpc tutor.com's home page. Oh yeah American Musical Supply is a definate must shop equipment outlet!! I use a Sound Blaster (SB) Audigy 2 Platinum on my computer. I run my dj mixer outs to the front of the SB breakout box rca inputs. There are 2 midi ports for hooking up your MPC and Triton. But like Blaz4me stated... get to know your gear FIRST before delving into hooking it up to a PC.
