Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

it doesn't seem like anyone has these in there mpc...
.
it seems like these thing are never sold... or hard to find...

its impractical and too damn expensive and now very hard to find for cheap, yow mean?

Akai just released the F-ROM for the MPC2000XL a few weeks ago. $240 is significantly cheaper than what the original MSRP was going to be.

The big benefit is that it adds to the 32Meg making the MPC a 40Meg machine. That's 25% more storage area and helps a lot in a 2 hour live set.

It is certainly not an option to just `have`.

I thought he was talking about the 8 meg flash Rom chip

you mean the flash rom adds 8MB of ram to the xl? i thought it just allowed you to save to it and retain it when the unit is rebooted. if so, that is pretty cool, but expensive for only 8 more megs. the 32MB ram is like $10-20.
