Slicing Zones

I place my start and end points exactly where I want them. Then I go to edit and slice it. When I look at the zones, it seems like it always slices just a little bit more and the next zone will be clipped a little bit.

Does anyone know something I don't about this?

i would say get used to that...when your choppin' on the mpc your doing it by ear basically...the next chop wont be exactly on point, you gotta turn the wheel back a tiny bit. well, thats what i have to do

crap display is all....if in doubt open window on sample end and zoom into the end of your waveform

which leads me to ask:

anyone know what the zero read out realyy is on the zoom screen as i often chop my waves to a zero start point but find that when in the mpc they have gaps (which im just assuming is the mpc unable to display down to 0 db)

that's why using your ears is my preference. Chopping on my 60 is much easier than on my S6000 which has waveform view and the number scrolling like the XL.

Isn't there a way to turn off the waveform view? You might like trying it out.

a freind of mine had a 2000 does it have the zone function like the xl?

try to set both the trim and the loop to the same numbers befor slicing and what i do is land on an even number on both cause if you land on an odd it just dont slice correct thats from my experince it works for me and my slices come out good .

i always chop in sound forge- purely cos i need drums which have no space before them- they need to trigger bang on- the mpc screen just doesnt have the res to handle it...

I have never had any trouble with chopping single hits, I think the resolution is fine how close do you need to get?
