Converting .ALL MPC 2000xl seq to work in the 3000xl?

im converting over to the 3000, how would I get my 2000xl seqances to work in the 3000? I saved them as .ALL. I already converted my samples with mpc editor so I just now need the sequance. Any help much appericated

Whatever you do, make sure you DON'T buy the 3000xl.

Do a search on this site for 2000XL AND 3000 AND sequences. That should give you a good start. Also, you may want to check the Akai website, if you haven't already, and see if the the .seq files from the 2kxl are readable by the 3k. I'm not sure, as I've never tried it. If I find the answer, I'll post it.

so basically I would have to resave the sequances as .seq? what about the midi seqaunce option, if I saved it like that? all my seqaunces are just from the drum machine no outside sythns or anything

Save all of your XL sequences & songs as Standard Midi Files: Type 0 and Type 1 [SMF]

Then the MPC 3000 and lots of other hardware and software sequencers can read them.

You will have to do it the LONG way.

The MPC3000 doesn't load 2000XL SEQ files.

The closest you'll get is to export your 2000XL SEQ as MIDI files and then import same into your MPC3000.

This will bring over the notes but will miss out much of the MPC specific sequence data that can't be contained in a MIDI file. ( this won't be a problem if you haven't used certain MPC functions in your sequences ).

Another way to do this is to use the MPC3000 in the mode where it will record many tracks at once.

This way you could transfer the SEQ in real time, one at a time, via a MIDI cable, 3000 in record 16 channels mode, 2000XL in play mode.

People like to stretch gear capabilites as far as they can not knowing it's
funtcions or limits. Some don't have the tech brain for it while others do.
