yo
if there is anyone out there who's good with midi i need some serious help

i have the mpc(which i'm going to use for samples till i get it full blown out with memory) and the mp7, m-audio audiophile USB 24/96 digital interface that goes into my pc and homestudio. i think i want to set up my studio so that i can the samples from the mpc into one of the triggers of the mp7, and from there run all my sequences into my homestudio so i can mix down and tightin' up all the ruff ends and burn it to disc and upload online. any suggestions and advice will be greatfully appreciated. holla back. one.

again here's a list of the equipment i have to setup:
akai mpc 2000 xl
emu mp7
m-audio audiophile 24/96 USB digital interface
pc (home studio 2004xl)
turntable setup

how i would like to setup equipment thru midi(audiophileUSB):
1.homestudio - master(for mixing and burning to cd)
2.emu mp7
3.akai mpc 2000xl - turntables lined into mpc

any and all suggestion and advice are greatfully appreciated. thanks. holla back. one.

What exactly is it you're trying to accomplish? Are you merely trying to record your audio to the PC, mix and burn? Or are you trying to record MIDI data, trigger softsynth sound modules via the MPC, what?

My chain runs like this:

MIDI:
Karma out + Whatever else out ->MPC2k ->Karma In + s5000 In

occasionally I hook up the karma to the PC for dumping patches or sequences

Audio:
Karma + MPC2k + s5000 + whatever else -> Yamaha AW16G multitracker -> Event monitors

Turntable -> phono preamp -> MPC2k

Karma -> ES-1 for quick drum/bass samples which I've been grabbing lately

I burn on the Yamaha, occasionally individual tracks to mix on PC. I also transfer samples back and forth over USB and ak.sys for the s5k. Both my computer and the AW16G are wired straight to the monitors.

-tank.

i'm wanting to run audio into my pc so i can mix and burn. i would like to use either my mpc or mp7 to sequence prior to going into my pc just so i can play as i record into my pc and get an idea of how i want to map out my tracks and sounds (i hope i'm making sense.) basically, i want run audio into my pc to mix, burn, and upload online.

Connect your MP-7's MIDI OUT to the MPC's MIDI IN 1, the MP-7's MIDI IN to the MPC's MIDI OUT A, your turntables into the MPC's inputs, the outs of your MPC and your MP-7 into your Audiophile. If you just want to run audio into the PC, this should work fine. Hit play on the MPC, get your sequence chugging along, hit record on the computer sequencer, record your audio, then mix, edit, and master to your heart's content. :)
