just realized that the 1000 has a 24 program capacity.
i use it live with a band, and we are getting to the point where we have more than 24 songs.

any idea if this may be rectfiied in an OS update?
seems easy enough to fix for such a complex machine...

?

so you use more than 64 different "oneshot" samples per song?

you have 16 pads x 4 banks - and that x 24 times = 1.436 samples (and that's without the 4 layers per pad).

I really think that is a hellova lot for a "drum-machine".

But if you really need that much programs and I assume you get paid for your gigs - why not just buyin' a second one.

just my 2 cents

well the way we use it is kind of unusual.

there is no 'sampler' player. we are a trio, and the bassist and i (guitarist/keyboardist) play the 1000 at various points in different songs.

some programs only have 2 or 3 samples, but they bear the title of the song which is the easiest way for us to navigate between soundsets quickly during a set instead of thinking "ok, well this song its songs in the C bank of XXX program..."

i guess we might have to start doing that in the future...

Since many of your songs have fewer than 16 samples and each program can have 4 pad banks (A<B<C<D) why not group the songs (in a way that works well with your set) and title a program accordingly. This might even be easier as you would only have to load new programs once every 4 songs, and you could select pad banks instead.

Example:

If your set list opens:
1. Hello Walls
2. Jolene
3. Movin' On
4. Big River

Then your first program would be called:

Hello_Jolene_Movin_BigRiv.pgm

with the samples assigned:

1. Hello Walls (bank A)
2. Jolene (Bank B)
3. Movin' On (Bank C)
4. Big River (Bank D)

it's a good idea but i dont think you can use that many letters in a PGM title

Well maybe even more cryptically abbreviated... or song numbers... those monkeys in the band can learn/ remember to associate a numeral with a song right???
