im guessing your doing hip hop music? from what ive heard, for cheaper than a blue, you could get a dope condensor that would be better for your needs. im not positive though. personally, im using a dynamic shure sm57 and it works for me.

those blues sure do look nice though huh?

I've got a Studio projects C1, it's a dope mic. Whatever you get, make sure you have a decent preamp.

no, you need phanthom power to power the mic but to get a nice and loud sound you need a good pre-amp.
get a tube pre-amp, the cheapest and good ones are the studio V3 tube MP

as for the mic: i'm doin ok with the Rode NT1-A

i got a studio projects vtb-1 mic preamp and it's cool. nice warm sound.
i was thinkin i might go with the studio projects series and cop a c1-mic,
but the reviews for audio technica 3035 looked good also, so im not sure
about this one... both are in the same price range.
