When recording a sequence... let's say I put a piano loop on track #1. on Track #2, I want some drums. Herein lie the problem, while recording a beat on track 2 (with track 1 also playing) track 1 will randomly cut out!

Anybody...?

WHAT IS GOING ON,it seems lots r having this rpoblem now and just recently showed up- not me but we must find a reason, maybe all of your samples r coming from the same source like the same editor program or website. have you tryed sampling drictly from vinyl.maybe the operating system is corrupted from a specific brand o flash card. all i can think of. maybe something's set to mono too? maybe that's possible.

I've had my 1000 for about 5 months now and it's only happened a few times. I've been getting my samples from the free sample cds that come with some digital music mags, like Future Music, Digital Music Maker, etc... Also, from the internet and other random CDs. The "cutting out" seems to occur when one sample is louder or deeper than another sample. It happens during the recording of a sequence, and enev when just playing a sequence. I can't figure it out!!!!

one thing is that one of the operating systems drops out samples every once in a while but i cant understand why a sample would drop out in the middle of a sample. does the sample play fine when triggered by itself by a pad?

the sample alone plays fine. I think it's got something to do with the volume of the samples. I've tried turning down each track seperatly and still nothing helps.

Try turn poly off on the sample running on track 1 it helped me.

If it needs poly move it too another track.

How? Where?

I'm new to this yo!

Go into your program and pick the sound or sounds running on track 1 press F3 (params) and highlight the poly (voice overlap) and change it to mono

volume is not the issue

make sure you're not running out of polyphony (doubtful but you never know)
sample in mono when possible
this problem used to happen to me the first week when i had my mpc. after that, it magically cleared up. i guess i just stopped doing something i was doing wrong. andi upgraded to the new os.
