This seems like a very basic problem....You make a beat with a pitched (16 level bassline)....record the midi data into your recording program, play it back, and all the bassline only plays the root note, not the pitch info.
Anyone know why this wont work?
I have checked all the midi filters on both Digital Performer and the MPC, but it won't record/playback the propper tunings (just the original note) in the sequnce?
Does this get back to the problem of not being able to not "play" the 16 level function by a midi controller? if so, that is a huge oversight and needs a bug fix on behalf of AKAI, as it absolutly essential for someone like me
PS: For the people that need to know why I am doing it this way, instead of just recording the data to my computer and bouncing....
I'm done with trying to get good bounced mixes in the computer, the bounces always **** with the stereo imaging, and never sound as good as when they are being monitored.
From now on I'm just syncing my computer to the MPC, recording the vocals/cuts on the computer, and subbing the cuts/vocals/MPC data out through a good 24-track mixer to DAT with a compressor/EQ at the end of the chain. It sounds *much* better.
This is the first beat that I have made in a long time that has a multi-tuned bass, which is why I haven't run into this problem before.
Anyone?
