Hi,

I just bought a MPC1000. I am a keyboard player -i have a korg pa80 arranger kbd. With my kbd, I can play a pattern, and in REAL TIME, I can change to 4 different variations and 2 fill ins. I would like to use the mpc's drum sounds and sampled grooves instead of the keybd's drum sounds while controlling them from the kybd. what is the best way to accomplish this?

a. If I have 6 sampled grooves (4 variations and 2 fill ins) in my mpc, is it possible to go MIDI OUT form kybd to MIDI IN to mpc, and control the mpc real time with my keyboard (change from one variation to other and change tempo)? (if yes, what midi setting? sorry I am new to midi)

b. Any other ways to accomplish this?

Thanks
Marco

umm i havent had my mpc in awhile but you can assign two foot pedals that hook to the mpc to do a number of things that you are talking about. just like a sustain pedal or expression pedal to your keyboard. so if you are use to using those you would need no midi at all. you could control tempo with one by tapping foot. note, if you want to use pre made grooves, a tap tempo will not work, the 1000 does not pitch or strech the sample tp fit your tempo. and with the other pedal you can switch different drum patterns. whenever you can get buy not using midi do it.. anyways. sorry im a little sloppy right now.. otherwise i wouldnt be writin anything... hope that helped.. cheerio

also, if you love rythems why not learn to play them. do not used pre made grooves... DO NOT...
