PLEASE some1 help out w/ these interfaces!

I heard the Audiophile 2496 was a good soundcard for your comp. to put your beats in from the mpc 4k. I was going to get it, but the guy in Guitar Center said the Audiophile USB interface was better? I dont know, I just want the easiest way to get my beats from the 4k on to a CD. So, Im guessing that the USB interface is better?, now is anyone using an interface to put their beats on to a CD, this way? I want to know if this is better?

First of all, the guys at Guitar Center are gonna push whatever they're manager tells them to push.The USB version of this soundcard is the "NEW" version so of course they're trying to move them on that premise. While USB is a viable audio recording option it has it's drawbacks. I know the USB version of this interface is not being received as well as the PCI version which is a tried and tested interface. Unless your looking for a portable interface I'd go with the original 24/96 which is also about 50 bucks cheaper. Of course this is just my opinion, you should do a search on the two and see what kind of reviews they're getting. What ever tou go with just make sure it's compatible with the software you want to use with it.

I agree with cooocooo1, I'd go for the PCI version of Audiophile anyday. The USB-version works pretty good, but unless you're using a laptop there really isn't any point in choosing a USB soundcard...

Also, remember that you don't actually need a soundcard to get your beats from the 4k into a computer (unless we're talking about entire, finished songs, that is). Just switch the 4k's recording source to its main outs, record your sample and then transfer to the PC/Mac with AkSys. Works like a charm, I do it all the time. If you have the RAM, I'd do this on shorter songs, too - you'll skip one step of DA/AD conversion, and that's allways a good thing.

Thanks alot, I appreciate the straight answer, do you have any idea what it means though when it say's that the MPC 4000 was not found? I just cant seem to get my 4k upgraded to the 1.45 version, I dont know why? I got a PC.

Make sure you have downloaded and extracted the USB drivers for your 4k, and also the latest version of Ak.Sys found here:

Make sure your 4k is turned off (it can still be connected through USB, though), extract the USB-drivers, turn your 4k on and let Windows do the rest. You will have to tell Windows where to find the USB drivers, and you can safely ignore the "This driver is not digitally signed..." bull. Windows should find and install the 4k properly. Then install Ak.Sys (just like you install any kind of software) and everything should be up and running. Apart from dodgy USB-cables and/or USB-controllers on your PC, there really isn't that much that can go wrong...

Uhh, I have NO idea whats wrong and why it just wont work? Ive downloaded all the things there is to download from Akaipro.com!! am I supposed to be doing something from the MPC 4000 while all of this is happening? I got no idea how to istall this s**t, Im still with version 1.33. PLEASE somebody help, if they know what Im talking about!! PLEASE
