bass, piano, samples, mixer, loops, layering, breaks.

There's nowhere to hide. They will find you and try to sell you something.

its all good with me because they provide us a place to network and share tips and to just learn more about our respective art. its only right that they do try to get cash ..

it's frustrating to me also. rather than appealing to the interested, these links appeal to everyone.

it just seems like the wrong place and wrong time for soemthing that otherwise i would have no problem with.

Those links are NOT OK. Plastering your board with ads/stickies for your product is fine. It's great. We all want to see this place thrive and ads are cool but the links are not. Censoring the names of your competitors is borderline but it's Tutor's prerogitave and he doesn't want his board used to advertise his competition. The links are not cool though. It's like that insidious adware for Internet Exploiter that lets companies buy keywords on other peoples content.

As a contributor to the community, someone who generates free content in exchange for a place to discuss it, I don't appreciate having words (links) put in my mouth. It's rude and disrespectful. I didn't intend to communicate the link, but it's right there in my message, appearing as if it came from me, with no option for me to turn it off. It's especially annoying because it has no regard for context. If I say "turn up the bazz knob", it's going to give a link for bazz g-tar samps, which is not what I'm talking about. That kind of stuff makes all of us look foolish and desperate.

Also, is there anyone here who is unaware that this board is part of a commercial site that sells high quality tutorials and sample packs? C'mon. There's a point where agressive advertising becomes so invasive that it's counterproductive (makes people never want to buy or recommend your product) and this is it.

It's not bad enough for me to boycott, but it is enough to make me want to obfuscate my posts, and that's sad.

Damn, got me on tutorials.

It's yet another sign of the sickening amount of crap that we're bombarded with, day and night, everywhere we look. I've never seen this kind of shit on any other site I've ever visited. Things never used to be this blatant or obvious. Like we can't see that ads on the side of the page?

gimme a break. You are actually gonna wine about that shit? who really cares. Think about it, the little bit you have to put up with the links (oooooh a little link) probably benifits mpc-tutor alot more than you realize.

Hes just tryin to cover costs. There are plenty of people who overlook the samples pages. Plus the countless posts asking where to buy good drum kits.

Mommy! wommy, I cant stand wittle winks, in my posts!

Although you might not like it, or that its annoying.......you might even have a valid point........but be respectful.

dont bite the hand that feeds you.
