I learned the MPC OS on the MPC60mkI. It had this great OS feature where you could (on the selected midi channel) go to the "PGM" space, spin that Data Wheel and scroll through the programs of an external module. When you found the one you wanted, that "program change" was saved with your seq. and when ever you brought up that seq. the coresponding program would pop on that external module.

Where and how on the MPC1000? No mention in the manual. Is this gone like the BELOVED "Track Velocity" OS feature??? Please tell me I am blind.

Anybody have a work around for this that you might care to share?

It's like that on all the mpcs except the 1000.

you can still put a program change though, and wright the name of the program. it's not that bad.

I figured out how to add one with the "Step Edit" feature... but kind of defeats the purpose of the MPC as a "central contral base"

Doing this through step edit is the only way that it can be done on the mpc 1000 and it is a hassle when you could do it from the main screen.

A hassle is no kidding! Makes me want to go back to using my MPC60, but then I just got the 1000 upgraded to 128mb (for $25) so I cannot complain bout that.
