How many people actually use a computer keyboard with their MPC4000's? Do you find that it helps out with working on the 4000, or do you think it gets in the way? I have'nt tried one yet. Just curious about everyones thoughts.

Thanks! 8)

Very useful for typing track, folder and sample names.

The shortcuts on the QWERTY keyboard can also save you some time on saving, loading and getting around the menus and it will save wear and tear on the face of the mpc (to an extent)

I'm very much into naming all of my files, sounds, tracks and sequences - i even named everything when i had the MPC 2000 (hella strenuous). I use an Apple keyboard with my 4000 and it sits on a shelf right below it. Never gets in my way, always there for me to use, happy Akai did it. And yeah, i agree with what medd said about the shortcuts...it's really cool once you've memorized the functions!

Hey scizz, ikke was just joking about the FireWire port (i hope you don't start looking for it). Yes, you plug the keyboard into the front USB port on your MPC.
