Copyrights to multiple works at once....

I read this in a previous thread that you can copyright multiple songs at once, but how do you go about doing so. Do you list each song that's on the phonorecord (or CD) in the 'Title of this Work" line of the registration form? I'm trying to copyright as many songs as possible.

Also, can you get a copyright on songs that contain samples in them? Like if the beats contains a sample, can you still copyright that song even if you don't have clearance on the sample?

You can name it collective works of blah blah blah make the list of what is on the cd or whatever and you should be good.

You can do multiples as once, make sure each song is clearly TITLED on your SR/PA Form. Yes, list each song. It's smart to do a comp versus one song, you can title the work by Comp DEMO or etc.

Yes you can copyright songs with samples as long as they are cleared, because you and the person you sample share royalties and credits. Look at your favorite artist and ex. Rick James, may be listed as co-author or writer even though the actual artist didn't perform on the song.

The only thing that gets me is that to pull a song from the collective work it's $30 a song.

say for reasons of filing your regestration work forms with your royalty company(BMI/ASCAP) when asked what is the copyright # for that song you don't have one for that song because you copyrighted several and they are gonna need to extract that particular song for you and file an indiviual copyright # for that song then in turn to do so is $30.

Surely though $30 is nothing compared to how much you probably made off that production? I could totally be wrong but a measly $30 isnt going to make much of a difference if you have just sold the beat for tenfold.
