ok ive been runnin my 3035 straight to the mbox(juss phanthom) is that a reason i could sound shxtty,cuz i have no pre-amp?

yo, everyone, before you go and pick up a 57, or AT3035, (i have both of them and more) check out the still kinda new MXL V69 tube mic that's soon to be the standard for rappers (Ludacris, though he can probably afford a Neumann or a C12, he chooses the V69). got mine today and after using my KSM44,(which is an awesome sound) and my AT3035(also good as well) the V69 just put the mid range (i was having to add along with other treatment to the other mics) right in the center where i needed it. it sounds super hot. best of all, it's really affordable! 
it will set you back about a little over $200. definately worth every penny! you've probably already seen it on the videos, (it's black, large diaphram, gold top lookin totally bling bling). you may have to special order it from your local guitar center or sam ash. can't say enough about this mic and the price. it's just mind boggling.
