Go to the DigiDesign website, check their tech support section, there is a page about that issue. If you can't find it there, check it the Digi User's Conference on their site, you'll probably get quicker info there.

good luck

i've heard in the rumor mill about a lot of studios having problems with their g5s and returning them and going back to a g4...good luck

yeah i was looking at a g4 today i don't wanna sound like a gear whore but the only reason i like the g5 so much is because it's new and the fact that it's just a screen

What os are you running 10.3.9/PANTER 0r 10.4.1/TIGER if your running 10.4 it's not going to run protools just yet. Digi is still working on the patch for tiger

Sounds like you may need to do a software update on your g5. I'm running a Dual 2.0 G5 with a Digi002 surface control and ProTools LE 6.9 I was having an issue with my FireWire ports until I did the update, now everything works like it's supposed to. Apple release a Flash Rom update a while back that addresses some issues with the G5 firewire ports, so make sure you get that as well.

peace

Go back to 10.3.8, it is officially supported by digi.
10.3.9 is not going to be supported because 10.4 just came out.
It'll take a couple of weeks for 10.4 to get fully tested by digi, then we'll see.

Looks like OS 10.4 and 10.4.1 will work with version 6.9.2 of the Protools software.
Just an FYI
