How does it work?

Does it go like this? (its pretty hard to explain)
KG Mix into filters and modulation into zone page? So that if I change volume in zone, filters wont change because it doesnt affect it. But if I change the volume in KG MIX, the filters are affected because the signal of KG mix goes into the filters and mod? Like in real hardware or like in Reason..
Does the MPC work like this in its programs and multis?

often questioned myself about it - ... sorry ikke - dunno - but i m interested myself ... anyone knows? ... to my knowledge akai never handed out a signal flow diagram for the 4k (think thats what ya refering to) ... is there any? ... maybe we should/could request one?!

KGMix to pitch, edit 1, edit 2 and zone.

Edit 1 is real control of pitch, amp and filter for each keygroup/note number whereas Zones are relative settings within the keygroup/ note number.


KG Mix all the samples assigned to a note or keygroup with volume

Pitch is the keyspan of a keygroup and the keyboard tracking of a note.

Edit 1 is the tuning, amp and filter of that particlular keygroup or note or the whole program

Zone is the relative settings of each zone with zone 1 as the main keygroup or note number. All settings made in KG page or Edit one will effect all zones but you can offset the settings within the zones.


Program Modulation page is the enevolpe, LFO, and controllers settings that you can use a midi controller to real time effect the keygroups filter, amp, velocity and etc. If you really want to control the keygroup in realtime use the envelopes and set the program modulation while its playing.

KG>PITCH>Edit1>PM>Edit 2>Zones>Qlink

as usual Ill end up answering my own questions anyway... I think the KG mix does not affect the filter pg cause if you set the output in the KG mix pg to out 4 for example through adat, the filters are still altering the sound.. so... Please correct me if Im wrong.. I cant figure out Blue Hazes´ answer

Ikke, I asked Akai that question every **** week for about 2 years,
and never got an sensible answer.

The voice architecture is ballex -
parameters and levels always hit "ceilings" and won't increase any further.

Akai sucks ass.

yeah I think so too but I still love my MPC
