Peoples,
Just got my new Shure Whitelabel cartridge and my Gruv Glide vinyl cleaner. Finally was about to start sampling my crates.
However, when I go to record, there is a shitty electrical hummy swishing noise. My Technics 1200 turntable's phono cable and grounding wire are connected directly to my MPC 4000.
I have tried moving the grounding wire about but it doesn't stop the noise. If I disconnect the grounding wire from my MPC 4000, there is much more noise.
When I flick the switch at the back of the MPC 4000 to Line/Mic the noise disappears. When I switch it back to Phono, the noise returns.
When I connect my turntable to a DJ mixer and come out of the DJ Mixer into the MPC 4000 as a line input, there is no noise.
It just seems to be when connecting turntable directly to MPC 4000. Somehow the MPC is picking up some shit noise from my turntable's phono connection.
Anyone have any suggestions.
