Just got the MPC 1000 and I was trying to figure out how/if I can record me playing my guitar and put the melody on as a sample or a recording.

sure why not...you might want to run your instrument through a preamp first though to boost the signal.

bass sounds kinda awesome going right into the 1k

it is a different sound than using an outboard preamp
