holding pads for sounds

can someone please help, I got the 4000 a couple of days ago, and how do I set it to just hit the pad and the sound goes off, cause I have to hold it down or it cuts out the sound,

example: cymbal crash, i cant just hit it, I have to hold it down for 3 seconds for the whole thing to play

check pages 243-246 in your reference manuel.that section talks about pads or make sure if it's a sample, that you trim it to where you want it to start. congats on the 4000!!

thanks for the fast response, but my problem isnt with the sample, its have to hold do the pad for the whole sample to play, I just want to tap it and have the sample play all the way through

Check 'play mode field'.Manual page 90

You need to switch the PLAY MODE to ONE SHOT.
