I made the mistake of ordering the Addonics DigiDrive. You need to order the Ultra DigiDrive. The DigiDrive looked right and fit, and powered up, but did not respond in any way(!%@#*&!). After wasting $70.00CAN, the Ultra DigiDrive fired up the first time. Any rumours you've heard about the MPC only supporting ATAPI are true. The first drive was IDE, second was IDE/ATAPI.
This drive is fast, high quality and totally silent. I'd say it's faster than Zip reading, and it's way faster writing.
There is no difference at all installing this drive from a Zip.
I've been using a SanDisk 256meg card in the Addonics PCI adapter for a couple of weeks now without any trouble.

P.S.: Tape sucks. Get two connectors and crimp the leads to the drive. I put automotive electrical connectors in there, so I can change the drive without cutting the wires.

but i did it cuz i understand dutch and it'd pretty much the same if u pay atention.. =)

I can read dutch but are really bad in german.

P.S.: does this work with an asr-10 aswell?
I know the pc most likely wont read the samples but theres translator apps etc... just being curious as the asr is the next thing on my shopping list next to some krk rp-6's

I don't know, my biggest card is 128MB. But I think some people use an 1 GB card. 512 should be work for sure.

Much faster? Are you using .snd instead of .wav?

So to make this conversion, you need a solder? If that's the case, could I just use a lighter and melt the wires together?

If you want to risk to **** up your mpc then that's the way to go, you might as wel try to hammer it together. On the real though if you want to solder then use a soldering Iron otherwise you can use one of these, just cut of the number you need and you can screw it together :

Do you boot from the flash drive as well? this is my main concern, as I've noticed that my MPC2KXL wouldn't boot from an external SCSI harddisk (the regular 2K does boot from a scsi zip).
If so which one do you use for booting?
I've just purchased a Microtech PCD-47 reader and would like to boot from SmartMedia (as it is shitty but i have one 16 meg card laying around here which i have no use for) and save/load to CF cards.
So the only problem is I'm not sure if it 'll boot from an internal SCSI as ext SCSI does nothing...

Is there anyone in the states selling these drives?
