OK, Who would pay for new OS updates?

So, here's the deal:
Who is willing to put out some $$$ to get OS updates with more features on the MPC4000?
I believe that V1.71 is pretty much the last free OS update from AKAI.

What are the most important features you'd want and how much would you pay for that?

I would pay for stream from disc playing (like giga sampler)


I would also pay for it to do transient chopping (like recycle)

Plus, I wsould pay 100 dollars to be able to audition programs from the load page, its hard when you have over ten thousnad programs, and you have to load the sound then picjk the part befor you can hear what it is you loaded.!

Sean, are you working on an unofficial OS?

Free OS updates should continue from AKAI, as long as they are bug fixes.

Now, if new features are added that were not suppose to be part of the original product, I might pay for a new OS. The question is, how would it be distributed? CD-rom? Download? Someone could pay for the OS, make copies of it and share it. In order to help avoid pirating of the OS, it would need to be loaded directly in to the MPC via website after paying.

As for how much? I don't know.

I would pay for a class action lawsuit,
demanding issue of the remaining advertised features
(sample streaming from hard drive, *.prj files, etc etc )

i would pay A LOT if you implement automation for a "sample start" that ranges over the ENTIRE sample and not just the first 2 nanoseconds like the one in zone.

i will pay a lot for this simple thing.

1/ No you dont want that! If the MPC streams from HD, it IS worse than a computer.. (oh man... imagin... streaming from HD.... )

2/ Get recycle and an USB cable!! Or chop by hand, like everybody does


What we want is more midi sequencing features FOR FREE And a stable fast OS. Thats it.

I would pay for updates that weren't on the orginal spec list. Although I would kind of suck to know that 1.71 is our last free there has been alot of features added to the 4k.

And I cant watch my MPC either... It has betrayed me... I see this red sticker: "Akai Professional" .... it makes me wanna vomit.
