What are your feelings on the MPC-60 VU meter????

I personally abhor it. I think it has far too much latency when monitoring signals and the peak is inaccurate.....sure wish there was a way to fix that -----I e-mailed Roger Linn studios and had inquired about a possible upgrade to the OS to fix that.....or if it was even possible improve it somehow through a new upgrade rom chip......donno....but if it would react faster to signals i'd be a much happier camper......the clipping when pitching down on peaked out samples is awfulllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll. Really sucks! For now guess we gotta play it by ear...........hehehe:) peace.

I find it a good reference, I don;t have any problems with it, the delay is small enough that I can follow what drum is which. But damn, if you lookin at it while spinnin at 45 it might be tough

I know how to not clip...=) - - - the point is that it's not very accurate! There has been numerous times when I'd make sure the level was just under peak and it would still clip P!! -----??? Oh well. I'd like to see an upgrade for it either way.....something like the sp-1200.....that digital vu is perfect in just about every way!

Agreed, the SP1200 VU meter ruined all other VU meters for me.

Other good ones are the S950, S1100 and the EPS (classic).

^Word up. The SP/S950 are the VU Heavy Weight belt holders.

I really like the VU on the asr-10, but I think there is something wrong with the vu of my SP-1200. maybe is it because it's the first version and it still runs on version 1.1. The screen is so small too. BTW have any idea where i could get version 1.2 free ??
