MPC 1000 Midii Settings

Does anyone know what the settings on the MPC1000 should be, if I wanted to call up the sounds of my keyboard, by changing the PGM (Program) numbers on the MPC?

I go to program with my MPC and motif hooked by midi, and then go to program, I change the numbers, but the sounds never change. Anyone know why?

How do you have them synched up together?

each track on the mpc must be aligned with a separate midi channel from the motif
