nah, its not really a waste of time...I mean, when you think about it, the sampler on the MPC is mad limited, I use the pc to timestretch, chop up long samples and loops, and for making basslines and messing with the resampling....as ling as you have a good routine, moving between the MPC and PC is like hella second nature and a timesaver....as far as the eb16 is concerned...its a nice investment but its implentation can be limited as well, I only use that for drums and short samples...I use audacity or sf 5 for adding indiviual efx....

Im just curios and how you move back and forth the mpc and pc?

I use an MPC formatted ZIP for production. I use a second PC formatted ZIP for transfer ONLY.

If you use only 1 PC formatted ZIP you wil eventually have probs with long file names and corrupted directory structure. Each of which will drive you crazy in the long run, losing data/samples and /or unintentional renaming of files from the PC.

There are MANY posts about these exact probs in the forums..

Can the PC read MPC formatted disks? If I remember correctly, I had a problem with that in the past, which is why I don't use the MPC format utility.

PC cannot read MPC formatted disk. But the MPC can read PC formatted disks but if I were you I would keep the file names at 8 character maximum.

I sample thru my pc into audacity via my mixer and then tweak away and then import to my MPC via a pc or whatever zip disk and assign to program....I also use a program called MPCeditor which will save you even more time as you can assign samples on your harddrive to a program and then import that finished program into the MPC.....its mad easy to use and will save you LOTS of time since you can just get on the mPC, load up a program and bang away......

how do you import? just send thru midi to the Mpc?
or zip discs, I got the Mpc-editor demo,but the trail time expired,,i liked it alot thou

aiite.ill think i go with an internal zip for the mpc,and just move the zip im using for the mpc to the pc.Just use 2 zips.and cut things up on the pc.use mpc editor and then bang away on the mpc

What u just said is exactly what I do and I never have any probs..

Just so you know, I have internal 250mb ZIPdrives on both PC and MPC2kxl. Easy transfer of samples between the two.

I save ALL my samples, seq's, pgm's, all's, aps's on hard drive and CDRW just in case.
