MPC and 4-Track Recorder

i got a MPC 2000, 4-Track Recorder:

and i got some decks with a DJ mixer, wanna know if theres some way i can connect the MPC to the 4-track and record the beat off the MPC to the 4-Track whilst adding lyrics??

you can do that as long as you have a mixer but the question is "Do you really wanna do that?" Upon reading the specs of the recorder you can only record one track at a time. To do that just run ya mpc into your mixer, hook up a mic into your mixer too and send an output line into your recorder. Personally, I don't like that because...

Your signal from the MPC might be in mono while recording (since it's one track) so you won't be hearing any stereo effects. If this is the case you would need to record the left out of your MP on one track. When that's done record the right out on another. But that will leave you with only two tracks to work with for vocals. If each track is a stereo track then you'd be aiight. If not you got one track for ya lead vocal and one more for your ads or doubles.

I had a four track reel to reel years ago so I learned how to work with what I had . Also the Fostex one too

If your going to go the 4track route, get one of these..... I have the Yahmah versionof the digital 4 track records to mini disc. I use it to record mixtapes and scratches mainly, but ;can be used for recording beats and songs.

I would recommend a digital multi-track or a computer over a 4 track, but I know how budgets are......

This digital one it 10 times better than a 4 track tape recorder, trust me.

thanks alot fellas i would buy that digital-multi tracl but fact is i aint got money (about £50/$100 but that wont be me anything) so what ive got will have to do me for now. But ill deff. get one of htos sooner or later
