To answer your question: Zip disk are as useless as floppy disk. as a matter of fact they are the same thing, the two are magnetic forms of storage, they are bulky and unreliable! CompactFlash in the other hand consists of a small circuit board with Flash-memory chips which is as small as a quarter. Picture yourself walking with 1000mb (1GB) of storage the size of a quarter, could you really say the same having a zipdrive- I think not! :D :o

I am about to do this. you have to buy the mounting harness too? none of the instatallation links said anything about that i just saw it on the shopping cart of some links to the one they bought.
also you cant just walk into a best buy, or any computer store and grab one of these?
I cant wait to do this

the drive screws into the bottom of the MPC.... no kit is needed, but there is a bracket on the inside of the MPC. you'll see it when you take out the current drive.

I use a 256. That's enough for me.... just get what ever size you think you will need.

"Is this reader compatible with My XL???"

Yes, it replaces the floppy. You will have to mode the power supply.

What do you mean by mode the power supply??

check the link in the first post. It shows how to do it.

The power cord on the floppy will not provide enough power for the card reader. you have to modify the connection. It's real easy

I'm pretty sure OS 1.20 will handle 1 Gig.
