FAT JOE compressor question????

I was at the show last night an I noticed that they had Fat Joe's mic running in stereo with different compression settings on each send......

it sounded ok.....

I personally thought the voc needed a boost in the 500-800 range........

I don't quite understand the purpose of the comp settings

Thoughts anyone?????

Most rappers sound terrible live anyway, all blowing the mic and shyt, I guess someone was just trying to improve that?

That I understand, 2 comps with different settings........

His vox was panned pretty hard too.

My biggest complaint at live rap shows is no lower mids in the vox, they high pass the hell out of ish. then all you hear is sssss.

It gets annoying, but prolly not as annoying as me yelling out numbers of freqs that need adjusting to my guys at the show trying to have a good time, drink, holler at females, etc.

I been buping alot of the old DITC lately and was hoping there was a slim chance he would do some old stuff...no luck though

I think Fat Joe might pull off the Big Pun breathe control, listen to some Pun tracks, son is having a hard attack when he breathes, like a burp in the beat
