just got my mk1.... and got the power converter and a new fuse and the thing works perfect.... and its mint... so im sorry to say that the mk2 is probably gonna be out the door....i love mk1sssss

DID I just read that correctly you said that the expanded memory is already inside SOME MPC60II?

yes... i think the mk2 were shipped out with the maxed memory... but alot of people will get them and take them out for whatever reason... so not all hve them now..

If your MPC60 is running version 2.14 software or lower:
1. Turn on your MPC60.
2. Place a disk containing a SND or SET file into the disk drive.
3. Press DISK, then 6.
4. Read the AVAILABLE SOUND MEMORY field. If it says 1536K, you have memory expansion. If it says 768K, you don't.

To my OOP-BOo-PIe SUPRIZE ( inside joke for all you Chapelle Show fans) Dayum I got 1536K! Well well I did get a pretty good deal I guess.

yea i got the memory in my mk2 and got a great deal too... took that shit out and put it in my mk1...sold the mk2 for more than i paid for it plus got to keep the memory...

If you have 2.14 you should check as that OS shipped with SCSI.

Might be a better deal than you think!

Yeah i looked on the back of the 60II and found the area where the scsi was at and found nothing but a piece of black metal covering it up. I mean it would be sticking out from there right I have seen pictures and I got nothing. When I do that procedure to check however as stated on the Roger Linn Akai site I get only one option not two, if you get two that means supposedly that you dont have scsi. I am confused would I have to open the 60 up just to find out for sure?

Nah if you don;t have the port at the back then you don't have it. Tis a shame, OS2.14 is supposed to have come with scsi.

Aaargh that hurts! My Wallet AHAHHA! was up late last night sampling a tr808 Nothing was on TV and Ive seed Star Wars Episode III like 5 times. So I was checking out the 60. What a friday night!? I spent a hour just sampling the Kick Drum, it was so noisey cause the kick is so low and the sample is so long the decay didnt help much. Everything else was fine. Phat snares my man! A trip to FORAT is definately in the works for my 60 got a sticky button and the paint is kinda wacked. Then theres the volume it gets staticky if you fool with it alot. Oh but its still the BOMB!
