Unofficial modifications or beta OS

hey guys,

just lets not get into that. if mpc3000 was interested in putting in that type of work he would have said so. besides he's helped us out alot already just trying to figure out how to get this whole thing off the ground.

i've been really busy the last little bit.. things just keep popping up and i haven't had time to really sit down and apply myself fully. however, rest assured, i have not given up on the idea and the site will be on the way in due time.. just as soon as i can take a few hours to figure out my form script (any suggestions tutor?).

in the mean time why don't you guys brain storm some sample questions to include. i think having the survey cover the mpc owners setup will give AKAI a good idea of what other equipment mpc users have as well as the options most commonly installed in their mpcs (might consider mixer improvements or effects if there is a big enough demand). do you think we should submit serial numbers so that users are clearly identified as owners and not just a surfer putting their two cents in? or does that matter in this case? also do you think the features list (with all the new features to choose from) should have a few different sections (like note-vari, sequencer, stepedit... etc) or just one big list that people choose the top 10-15 new improvement? anything that I missed?

anyway.. gotta run, hope to hear some feedback.

OK, lets see. You are here since I suppose you are a musician wannabe. That is, you eventually want a bunch of people to pay money for music that you write. And you want someone else to give something up for free that would benefit you in attaining that goal of writing music that you want people to buy from you. ha ha ha ha.....not everyone is a wannabe.......not everyone charges fee's either...some do it for the love..........there is a lot of good things for free you just have to look for it

Thanks for posting that as i was unaware of that function even after all this time.

For breaks and longer samples this is a silly function but great for hits used in conjunction with the filter.

Hey, all... Magnus Lidström (the man who developed Typhon) got back to me. I thought I'd post the whole e-mail but as Tutor pointed out he might not be cool with that. so if you are interested in what he had to say pm me.

I dont know if the whole thing is a moot point anyway, people might have already given up on the idea so it may be best to let it die...

Can you check that he's happy with you reproducing that email in public - some people can get upset when personal mails are shown in forums.

very informative info bro. again, we are left with a few questions.. what are the exact updates and how will we pay for a programmer to do it. doesn't sound like much but it's gonna take some dedication.

Well, like he said 50%-60% of the project is research.

Number of things to do: look into coding, figure out space. Next step is try to get an akai programer to give us some idea of what it takes... Oh yeah, and contact Roger Linn (the other guy who has developed an alternative OS). I think I'll try to contact him in the next few days...

Somewere in this topic someone wrote that he gave the url of this threat to an Akai person. But that won't work, since they have to login first.

any update on the MOD O.S. for the MPC yet or did you all just decided to mod your Xboxes instead.

im studying programming now in school but im a long way from modding an MPC O.S. or creating one. I think it would be a cool project for a group to work on im sure you all would get a huge amount of support.
