Saving Problems

What up MPC fam,
Your help so far has been invaluable. But this problem has me scared and I really need some help with it. I have a 250 iomega zip drive connected to the mpc. I have been saving seq. to the zip disk with out any problems, until lately. No everytime I save a screen comes up and it is nothing but numbers all over the LCD. What the f***k! I have lost so many seq. because of this and it's very frustrating. I hope someone has help with this and it is somthing simple to fix. Thanks in advance

Well my friend, you have just lost your virginity! This happens to everyone from time to time. Especially when you leave that baby going for some serious hours. I found that from time to time un plugging my midi controller just before I'm about to save lessens the chance of the MPC trying to reboot itself. I could be wrong but it appears to be that common factor in the instances I had. My guess is that somewhere in the midi chain the MPC is crosiing commands and forcing itself to reboot to rectify the problem.

Thanks for the tip. My next question. Do you mean unplugg my midi controller before I save or before I turn on the mpc?

Sort of. All you need to do is unplug it from your MPC midi in portbefore you get ready to save. That way it can't confuse your MPC by sending it signals. If you're like me and notice your presets changing or drums hopping without youre phisically causing them to. It's a midi signal somehow being generated from your midi controller.
