HUI

What is the purpose of the HUI. Im a rookie in da game and I purchased and MBox with PT. They say PT is stand alone, but then I read somewhere I need a damn HUI.

You don't need one. It's an option, and wil save you some mouseclicking time. But there's nothing you can do with it that you can't do right now. (Exept maybe for moving a couple of faders at the same time. )

Thanks for the info. I was just about to waste some cash on it. So if Im understanding you correctly its just a luxury?

yes. It's just a gizmo with lots of flickering lights and buttons. If you spend a lot of time mixing down tracks it might be worth the expense, but you can do without.
