Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

trying to install aksys to my pc (windows xp).starts to install then fails saying 'system error,cannot find file'. i have tried advice on previous posts but nothing is helping. somebody please!!![/b][/i]

maybe try downlaoding the file again and reinstalling

keep getting "akMPC4kU.sys on MPC4000akSysUSB" is needed. im using the disk provided with my mpc.have also tried downloading from akaipro site. always ends with "system cannot find file specified". help!!

get used to a computer if you bought the mpc4000


! delete the inf files and reinstall the mpc !

I ran into the same problem. Go to the AkaiPro site,then to support and download,I think it's the 253 one. Make sure that it says for USB. download it,extract it or whatever into a folder on your desktop.
AFTER THAT.

My Computer
Control Panel
System
Hardware
Device manager
Scroll until you see where the Akai tried to load. You should see an exclamation mark.

(Right click)
Use the update from a specified location
Update the driver with the 253 that you extracted onto your desktop.
This should work!
