Once he pressed play on his MPC, what he added on his keyboard also started playing. I'm trying to figure out how he exactly has his equipment hooked up?? What do you guys think??
Here's and example of a typical MIDI setup usin an MP and Triton keyboard:
1. TRITON MIDI OUT -> MPC 2000XL MIDI IN A
2. TRITON MIDI IN -> MPC 2000XL MIDI OUT A
Set the XL up for MIDI beat clock:
1. Press SHIFT + MIDI SYNC
2. In the left window, select "Sync In A"
3. In the right window, select "Sync out A & B"
Now setup a new sequence on the MPC or if you already have an existing sequence, go to a new track. On the new track, change the source from DRUM to MIDI, then rotate the data wheel to change to channel 1A. MIDI channel 1A corresponds to Track 1 on your Triton, MIDI channel 2A->Track 2 on the Triton, etc.
Make sure you read your MPC's manual or at the very least, download the MPC 2000XL Ebook from this site, everything I've just told you is in that Ebook and in the manual.
