Well When I was about 19 I was record mad, spent all my money on 'em. DJing a couple of times every week. I wasnt amazing but I could mix OK and people were into it, I mixed anything together and there was always a party...
Anyway, suddenly I was unemployed. couldnt afford vinyl (new imports were £7.00 a piece, that's $14, UK were about a fiver) so I sold one of my 1210s and stuck my hundreds of records in me Grandmas garage. Well since then I got into the production side, bought a couple of synths and an mpc, and when I moved back to London had to clear my shi t out her Garage (thats Garridge not Garaaage
)
Now I've got all this stuff I loved before I started making stuff, and I can make real use of it again - All day I ve been sampling old accapella records, listening to Kraftwerk, Sex Pistols, Nancy Sinatra....It's like a new lease of life. Digging in your own tunes when you haventtouched em for 4 years.
Just wanted to share that boys. Good luck to you all
