Zip Question

Okay..

I figured out that you need to save everything as a "snd." file to load up in the MPC's zip drive.. Thats not a problem..


What is, is the only way I can save my samples is to open Recycle and save them as it..That takes a long ass time, especially when I want to get a drum kit together.

Is thier some kind of converter program that I can use that will make mass conversions? keep in mind im on a Mac.

forget about saving as send... and going through hassle of converting it to .wav ..... putting it recycle then converting it back to send... so that it can work right.......... forget all that....



just save it as a .wav to begin with.... that way all you gotta worry about is just tweaking it in recycle....

um i tried to load up a normal wav. file in my mpc and it doesnt work..this isnt normal right? it says "unknown file type"

aaron, are you using a regular 2000 or the 2kxl?....keep in mind that the majority of people on here use the 2kxl which allows you to save as wav. while the 2k does not....

Yep, it helps if you state which MPC you use, as there are quite a few different models. Both 2000XL and standard 2000 load WAVs fine.

are the wav.s in the PCM 16 bit format?

are you sure you're not saving them as a aiff or Recycle's filetype?....just load up a sample in Recycle then save it in recycle....does it give you some options as to what to save it as?....I dont have a mac btw but there shouls be some way to save the sound as a wav.......if not then save it as a .snd then load it into the MPC and convert it that way...also you dont need to save everything as a .snd in the 2kxl...I say, just to try it out, sample something and then save it as a wav in the MPC...then take it to your mac via zip and see what happens.......I wish I could be of more help....

okay i settled the wav. problem, turns out i was trying to transfer a Sound studio wav. file not a normal wav. file...

but I have another question lol.

I did a practice beat i want to load up in the computer,

1.does mpc only save songs/sequences as a ALL. file or can you sav as others?

2.I tried to load a All. file in (on the comp):Sound Studio and Recycle and they BOTH dont recognise it....Is this because im on a mac? or is it just my software? What software can recognise a ALL file????

An ALL file is an MPC specific file, so it can only be used in an MPC.

If you save a single sequence, it saves it as a MIDI file, which is universal - but remember a MIDI file is just note information, not audio - so if you are using internal samples in this squence, you wont hear them in your Mac.

so how am i supposed to bring my songs from the mpc to the computer?

You have to record them as audio - i.e. record the audio outputs of your MPC into your computer sound card.
