ok i cant do drums but just one thing: if i solo a kick for example it doesnt sound too bad, then when i add in everything else sometimes it sounds uneven , like sometimes its loud sometimes its soft. I reckon the other drums are affecting it but i dont know how. I know you can give things priority if you have samples on your mpc but i dont think its possible as im just triggerin sounds from my keyboard. It snot even that its in the background though just that its all over the place. Ive changed the velocity and duration and its all been quantized in case that makes a difference. but it doesnt. ah maybe i have to do that thing where i make all changes permanent. Just thought of that as i was typin but its probably not it anyway.

Are you takin the piss. the timin is fine to me. its just the beats seem to get louder and softer even though they play back when soloed at the same level.

i dont have a compressor. Im using drum sounds from my keyboard. THers effects with the keyboard so maybe its all too much when put together or something. Ah i reckon i need to sort out some new drum sounds anyway. Does everyone on this forum do hip hop cos I dont, nothin against it i just dont/cant do it
