USB Connection

I am having a problem with my new MPC1000. When I hook it up to my computer, I'm getting an error message stating it cannot be installed b/c the installed driver is invalid. This product doesn't need a driver. Even the tech guy at Akai didn't know what was wrong. Has this happened to anyone else?

It should just recognise it as a mass storage device. Do you have a compact flash card inserted when you connect it to the PC?
