syncing mpc 2000xl with external mixer?

Is it possible to sync my mpc with my euro rack ub 1832-pro mixer by Behringer, in other words I want to mix all my instruments on my euro rack and add fx etc.. any help will be greatly appreciated.. thanks

If you simply want to connect the master stereo outputs and add effect to that or put a compressor on it you should simply connect the outs with two channels on your mixer, but I guess you've figured that out yourself.
If you want to be able to add effects to seperate sounds and do an overall mix, you'll need 8 outputs.
Highly recommended if you want to be able to work live with your MP.

ok I do have the 8 outs board, say for instance i want to add external effects to my individual tracks on the mpc, because all i want to do is pan some of my instruments left/right and add reverb to etc. how would I accomplish this using an external mixing console thanks for replying..

That's not syncing, that's just mixing. Sounds like Ripple got you covered.

I'm sorry i didn't make myself clear.. i'm not using samples i'm recording midi notes from my triton to the mpc sequencer. once i compile all my my midi tracks how can i add external effects to my individual tracks on the mpc, thanks for replying..

Dont mean to hi jack the topic, but i have a mackie 1402 vlz, i have the 8 outs going into this.. How do i use the a compressor. where to ?

the mpc should sink. make sure you tie it to that behringer securly and that the water is deep enough.

Well, if you are having the MPC send MIDI DATA (hint hint) to the Triton, which is actually the machine making the sounds/notes (hint hint), and you have the 8 outs of the MPC, which is NOT MAKING ANY SOUNDS AT ALL, just sending DATA (hint hint) hooked up to the mixer, what do you suppose the problem is there?

MIDI isn't audio . It's just a signal that triggers audio to go off . I'm no expert on midi, I don't use it in my setup, but in your case, syncing your mpc and triton would basically be having midi notes sequenced on the mpc that tell the trition to trigger it's internal sounds whenever the mpc tells it to. I think with the mpc alone, when you have a sample assigned to a pad and you hit that pad, theres' a midi note that goes off internally and tells the mpc to play that sound. I'm not onehundredpercent sure about that though, so if anyone can correct me, go ahead .

how ever, u can use the Mixer to control the volume levels of each midi track u use on the MPC, which is triggering the Triton sounds.

this would be like telling the mpc what levels to have rather than doing it ya self in the mpc. with regards to efftects NO. unless u have the audio signal going through the mixer as well, assuming ya mixer has the capabilty to do this.

my advice is not to bother with this route and deal only with the AUDIO side. its less complicated. though its neat when u can stop and start from the mixer rather than having to go tot he mpc and go back to the desk and mix.
