Im very new at my new akai mpc2000xl

Alright im new and im trying to make a basic beat to get the hang of this machine what steps do u go about to make a beat.. My buddy told me this a while ago and i forgot
So far this is what i can do
Load a wav file from the disk and load it to each drum pad..
I think i made a simple beat my going to step or something and loading it to a pattern dont remember
Someone wanna help a brotha out and write down some easy steps so i can get the hang of this

just have fun and get the hang of it first. im a newbie also and i learned everything on this site. so def. browse around this site.
u can get ur basic drum programming down first, which usually consists of kicks and snares, then get ur samples from whatever source u get ur sounds from. or once u get the hang of it you can get a sample and just work off of that by chopping it up.
hope this helps a little. i can't give that much info cuz im still learning too. but def. browse this site. it has pretty much all questions answered.

i would spend more time on the akai but i been crazy upgrading my computers so much since its free money time in alaska ^_^
once the pc's r taken care of its back on those rubber pads again tho.

seriously the best thing to do is not worry about making songs or anything just yet. just get a feel for the basics i.e. slamming the pads, moving sounds that should go together close to each other on the pad config, etc. just simple stuff that makes you more familiar with the interface of the akai.
i hear the site author is making a full tutorial for the mpc at the moment so you maybe should just mess around till that comes out if you wanna "learn things right"
