MPC60 MKI PARTS - Who need's e'm?

I've got 2 MPC6o MK1s. One is in need of repair which I may do.
But I was also thinking of parting it out. Either way I only need one.
I know that parts are impossible to come by so I figured I may be able
to help some people out. Let me know what the interest is in parts. If there is one I'll part it out on Ebay.

-a backlight
-data knob (mines is kinda losing paint)
-SCSI kit

Data Knob??? Tic....get some car Body paint & sand paper & go 4 it dude...

You can get knobs and such from VST.

Most parts are available, most problems are repairable, there is nothing in there that will get you anywhere near the amount the whole unit broken could get you, and parting it out will not help becausre they are all pretty much common parts one can get new for repairs. Plus if it is broken there is no telling which parts are working or not. Just ask for offers for it broken or send it to vst for repair, or just sell it to them to fix and sell.

I agree. Tic Toc, you should just sand all of the paint off and give your knobs that brushed aluminum look that's what i did.

I ordered a few parts from VST - Hopefully she'll be up an running in a week. I got it running with parts from my other MPC60. It seems it needs a new power board and power supply, and it also had NO OS!!! But everything else seems to be fine - backlight is bright as day and the unit is pretty clean. I'll sell it once it's good to go. I need to cop a new disk drive as well. What kind of drive should I put in? I'll check the archives, but if anyone knows off hand that would be great.

The power supply board should be fine unless it's smashed, you can replace every part in it for less than $30 easily. THe transformer is more expensive, but available as well.

Disk drives are available.

Just watchout for diminishing returns, any project like this can easily go there.

Personally I would have rebuilt the Power Supply, put some 2.12 (or maybe 3.03) Eproms in it, and went to an old PC surplus store (like the ones at a flea market or Gov't sale) to hunt down a floppy.
I am just seeing too many working 60's sell cheap, like in the $400-575 range.
Not sure what you have tied up in the unit but you definitely don't want lose money on it.
