What's funny is I only posted it to show these to simple methods that really shouldn't be hard to figure out just from looking at how the MPC works.
I just don't get the fear of manuals that people seem to have.

While normally I would join you on the "RTFM" boat, this guy is from Taiwan and speaks very limited English. I doubt the manual does him any good.

Track one i usually whatever i come up with first... this makes for some real hell when recalling songs. I should prolly develop a pattern template like you all.

Nah man, I don;t have a template, it just usually starts of that way, but I'll have melodies or loops or whatever on track one. I keep it flexible, but remember you can name your midi channels with the instrument that's on it, so when you choose midi 1A it will display 1A- S950, then you can name the track with just the program name for recalls.

But generally once I record it I save it but recalling it is not much of a concern for me.

I'm not really a RTFM person what I am about is sitting down a trying to understand the d*mn piece of gear.

If you can get just a little understanding from the manual and then take the time to apply it and see where it leads you, it would help people more than they know.
With the MPC's there's so much right in front of you it's so easy to start using.
That is also it's flaw, because you can start using it without understanding it.
The drawback will be you will never get to the heavy hitter aspects of the box.

even with my templates and such I still try to track to PT as fast as possible, it's so much easier to work and recall things there.
At the least I usually record a 2-track version to DAT as a safety net.

I didalways wonder why the japanese companies didn't make OS's in their own language? Kinda weird eh? or in multiple languages, you'd have all of china with one OS translation.

The Manual is totally English, I can understand a little and I will spend a lots time for Dectionary. in my country only few people I know have MPC60 or 2000 and they are not knowin very well about how to use(They have it longer than me and those people I know they don't use it anymore for long time) haha it's funny that's why I come here.......MPC Drum Machine and Sampler is really not popular in my country.People almost go for VST, Computer and Preamp is the NO.1 for buy.. I will also try harder to read the manual by my self. Thanks for everyone who helpin me. Peace

P.S. The Value of MPC60 and SP1200 in Taiwan.
My thave wo friends.One bought MPC60 I(No Upgrade) for USD$100 in Taiwan. One bought SP1200(Grey Version)USD$160 from Taiwan Major Recording Studio.Taiwan got no Low-Fi music , all the music in Taiwan Major Lable are Clean and Hi-End. Just a story to share

Another friend got MPC2000 about 1 years then I borrow from him for try.But he didn't know how to use it. The result is ....I teah him how to sample and some thing....Almost Akai S-Series Sampler Dead in Taiwan.
and I only find one EMU EMAX HD Keyboard sell for USD$180.and one of my friend have EPS16+ Rack(He only know how to Sample). Taiwan is really small........just talk some s**t.... the point is English is out Big Problem.....My English is OK but a lots WORDS is very Professional, so....

You should try to contact akai international see if they have a manual in chinese, since the writing is the same as Taiwanese, it should work out well.
