MPC 60 question

I have a MPC 60II with the original O.S. on it, not the 3000 upgrade. Is it possible for this machine to be Monophony (play one note at a time when the pad is struck without continuing the sample be played until its over), or is always polyphony? I have no idea how to switch it if it does. Any info would be appreciated.

I think your referring to "note off" capabilities and the answer is no unfortunately you have to have 3.10 OS to use note off. BTW Polyphony refers to being able to play more than one key/pad simultaneously if I'm not mistaken, which I could be.

'poly' meaning many & 'phony'....from the greek word for FAKE...er....hang on....phony...for 'voices'...aaaah thats it....

Many notes at once.... 16 note polyphony...16 notes playable simultaeneously...

Not to be confused with Multi-timbrality!!!!Which is no. of parts playable at any one time (I.E midi channels etc)

yeah, no mono without the upgrade. Go to Roger Linn Design dot com and check out all the features you gain, it is so worth the money.

You might be able to assign the pad to cut itself off, that way you would get mono.
