Getting my 1K today, already have Reason, will it work??

Whats up everybody, i was refered to these forums while i was reading up info on the mp1000. Much love to all my fellow producers!

Anyway, this is my first mpc. I never really messed wit one seriously. I'm working with a g4 apple powerbook and a lil Oxygen 8 midi controller and Reason and i was reading that the 1000 is to be used in conjunction with a computer so I'm thinking of getting it. I make hip hop beats and Reason just isn't cuting it anymore by itself... So anybody has this setup wit the 1000 and Reason and how it fairs?

Works great. i use reason rewired inside of Acid pro 5, and then render out the midi file to a .wav loop and then put it inside the mpc. you can do alot of issh w/ it. you'll be very happy w/ the mpc1k alone plus you'll have reason as a sound module. enjoi. and welcome to the forums. welcome to the forum jae, and congrats on your purchase of the 1k. yes, you can use reason and the 1k together. alot of people have that setup. you can use it the way metafor use it, i use it similar to that also and you can use it as a sound module connected right to the mpc

aight thanx for the info, I didn't end up getting the MPC today, they denied my credit lol so I gues i"ma have to take some money i had saved up for a car and buy it with that. Hey Sparq, when u say "use reason as a sound module for the mpc" u mean that i basically just use the mpc alone and use REason as just a sound bank or something like that? Is this oppose to using Reason as the sequencer and just using mpc as the drum machine?

Exactly u can use reason jus for the sounds. I feel ya on the credit thing at Sam Ash. But Noe I have a new Sam Ash cARd. But no more spending. .I think i have what need for awhile

yea man i was soo hype today too homie, I left mycrib, i met up wit my manz who i produce with (we r called Art of War btw) and i get ova there, tell the dude i want the mp1k and some m audio speakers and whateever cables i needed... so he takes my info and just truly got deaded! i was soo disappointed, we went to Guitar Center at 14st. (we in nyc) and i got deaded there too!! I mean i got credit cards but my boy was tellin me that to get credit from thsoe stores, u gotta have EXTREMELY GOOD CREDIT, cause when u get a card from them the limit isn't gonna be some $200 like a GAP card lol. You'll be dealin wit some serious money so i guess they wanna make sure u have the best of credit...

Oh and another thing... what is a motif and how can I use that wit the mpc?
