what up everyone, i been producing a lil while but i havent used midi till i found my dads keyboard. I dont know how to hook it up to my MPC 2000 though. i have a midi cable but one end is male and one is felmale, so one wont fit in the other one. is there a nother cable i need? if so, when i get the cable, do i just plug them into the machines, how would i set up the MPC to recieve the signal? one last question.....if its hooked up to the mpc correctly, wil i hear the keyboard sounds through my speakers i got hooked up to the MP? thanks alot everyone, much appreciated in advance.

That's not a MIDI cable.

Wot up unphase?!!!

You'll need to firstly hit up google & do a search on Midi Basics tutorials....no way round it but to Study dude!!!

You need to get a grasp of MIDI for YOURSELF before anything else or it'll just frustrate you.

Not the answer you wanna hear but you'll be in way too deep if u dont get a grip on the said BASICS!

There's tons you'll find on the NET though so dont worry...just read up & you'll be a don soon!

PS..ntalec is right....whatever that cable is u been playing with....it aint a MIDI one!!!!

And a midi guide also. You can find good midi guides all the internet for free.

The biggest thing misunderstanding I've seen is that some
think audio runs through MIDI cables, it doesn't.
