i'm using MPC as the sequencer and Reason doing the synths. the system works really good as you can set the synths to individual midi channels. also the option for setting them to individual outputs is nice, i see they've planned that software for this use too. just connect the mpc midi out a or b to sound card's midi in
and i've never had problems with latency since i got my STAudio DSP2000 C-Port sound card. used to have a 800mhz duron machine with it, now a Athlon XP2500+ based computer. i had problems with my ex-card maxi studio ISIS but anybody who'se had that card knows the deal
and yo, always doubt anybody recommending you to buy more ram, that never solves anything. believed it once and never again(back in the days from 8mb to 24mb, hehe)! now i got 256mb and everything works fine, like it did with 128mb before.
