Is there any advantage to having a 4000 and a S6000?

A friend of mine is thinking of selling his S6000 and he offered it to me at at pretty good price, $700 fully maxed and the usb interface. Now... i have a mpc 4000 and i know the sampling engine inside the 4000 is the same as the Z series samplers and that the S series is a generation behind.

I know I dont need it and never even wanted one untill he offered it to me but I dont want to be passing up a good deal on a monster sampler if someone with more knowledge can tell me what the advantage is of having a 2nd sampler in your setup, thanks.

the S6000 can audition programs from its HD
it has a removable screen/ interface. You can go to the cigarette shop on the corner of your street holding the screen
The sound is little different. I think it is punchier. The MPC4000 is warmer and fuller
The S6000 has 20 individual outputs. Combine that with your MPC and you have a total of 30 !! outputs.
I think its interface is better than the one from the MPC4000. (buttons left & right from the screen)

700 is a veeery good price for the S6000 including the USB board

The s6000 is an amazing peice of equipment. I have one fully fully maxed effects board, 256ram, extra polyphony, usb, 16 (20) outs and a 50gb internal hard drive.

To be very honest with you, I love the 4000, but, I think I may be going back to my 3000 and s6000 setup. I found that setup so easy to use and manipulate. Extrememly intuitive and I found my self flying on it. Ive had the 4000 for a little while now and I still find myself thinking more about the technology than the music......


Time will tell, but I miss that damn 3000.
